Samsung is rumoured to be cooking up a phablet-sized version of its regular Galaxy S6 Edge – the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. We caught a glimpse of the device in a video; we’ve seen the alleged press render; we’ve seen the “S6 Edge+'”trademark granted to Samsung, and we’ve seen cases allegedly made for the device. Now, photos have been leaked, showing the S6 Edge and the rumoured S6 Edge Plus dummy side by side with one another.
@OnLeaks, a Twitter account known for leaking accurate information on unannounced devices and the source of the leaked press render of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, is responsible for leaking the photos. The photos show the S6 Edge alongside and on top of the S6 Edge Plus, revealing the difference in size. If the dummy is legit, there is no doubt that the upcoming device is a phablet.
According to past reports, the S6 Edge Plus measures 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85 mm. It is said to sport a 5.5-inch to 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53, two ARM Cortex-A57 cores, and an Adreno 418 GPU instead of Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz under the hood, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in the coming weeks.
